This beautifully handcrafted Nantucket Lidded Basket is further accented with an original Floral Scrimshaw medallion created and signed by L.Layden (enlarge photos #2 and 4 for details). This miniature Nantucket basket is made of all natural materials and fastened together with tiny brass tacks. This lovely, lidded basket was made in the 1980s, has its original label and was hand-woven from natural materials, including rattan, ash, and cherry. The floral scrimshaw (decorative etching) is crafted from polymer and bone. This vintage Nantucket basket comes with a small wood display stand. These original miniature Nantucket baskets are 4" wide x 4" high (without the handle) and are highly collectible and difficult to find today.
